MDS Backup offers a riskless alternative to traditional backup and restore methods, replacing conventional tape based solutions with a disk based fully automated online solution.

MDS Backup provides centralised and automated backups of NetApp based storage, offsite and available for immediate restoration.

• MDS Backup provides an automated offsite backup and restore service for NetApp users.
• Backup data is transferred offsite to a secure datacentre, guaranteeing availability and security.
• Offsite data is held on NetApp storage dedicated to that client.
• Secondary NetApp Filer and SnapVault licences (primary and secondary).
• Dedicated disaster recovery Filer in datacentre for large restores that will take too long over the wire. This will be taken to site should this event occur.
• 24x7 monitoring of network, datacentre, secondary storage; checking backups are successful; providing alerts to any failures of the aforementioned kit or interruption of service.
• 24x7 support in event of data loss or disaster.
• A third DR Filer is located at the 24x7 Operation Center available to use in event of a full site disaster where the data needs to taken to an alternative site. The advantage of this is that it gives the customer two copies of data to minimize any further exposure.
